Leaving Twitter and moving to Mastodon.
I have deleted my Twitter account, @hmans. Those of you who have also been using Twitter, or at least following its latest developments in the news, will know why I have made this decision.
A lot of my online places link to that account, which I've been – catastrophically! – using as the primary means of letting people get in touch with me. Yes, I've been very dumb.
Getting in touch
If you do want to get in touch with me, please use email. You can reach me at email@example.com.
For posting occasional micro-updates about my work (and sometimes other parts of my life), I will be using my Mastodon/Fediverse presence at @firstname.lastname@example.org.
You don't have to be a user of Mastodon to follow me there; my presence there has its own RSS feed that you can subscribe to in your RSS reader of choice.
But I do encourage you do join! Mastodon and the Fediverse are certainly not perfect, but definitely more exciting and future-proof than Twitter. Check out joinmastodon.org for how to get started.
I will be posting the more noteworthy updates to this blog, which also has its own RSS feed that you can subscribe to. I will be looking into wiring up this blog to Mastodon (and vice versa) in the future, and for the particularly lazy among you, chances are good I will eventually provide a (probably mostly automated) email newsletter.
Let's go! 🚀
